HOLY SUPER FERTILITY

I’ve been doing a fair bit of cooking since getting my Thermomix. It’s just so easy to blitz everything in it. I don’t usually make up my own recipes but I decided today I would give it a try. This recipe is a combination of two recipes. One from Nat Kringoudis’ site “Fertilise Yourself” called “HT Amazeballs Deluxe” and the other from Danielle Davey over at “Raw and Pure.”

These are super easy to make and taste awesome!

You will need the following:

INGREDIENTSbliss balls

1 cup almonds

2 tbps of cacao butter (melted)

1 cup of walnuts

2 tbps of cacao powder

1/2 cup coconut oil (melted)

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla essence (I like to use one vanilla bean)

200g of dates

1 tsp maca

handful of goji berries

handful of coconut for the mix

extra coconut to roll the balls in

METHOD

Well I didn’t time everything on my Thermomix so will just tell you what I did and hopefully you can figure it out. Feel free to use your own food processor/microwave/stove top for processing and melting.

1) Melt the cacao butter and coconut oil. I used 50 degrees, speed 4 for approx 2 mins. Scrape down sides as the cacao butter really sticks to the walls.

2) Add all of the ingredients.

3) Blend on speed 4. (I brought the speed up to crunch the nuts a little more. Keeping it low keeps a nice balance of crunch and smoothness. Mmm)

4) Roll into balls and roll in coconut. Alternatively you could roll into cacao powder.

5) Place in fridge for about an hour to firm up.

6) Get it into you!

BENEFITS

Cacao: According to Danielle Davey cacao is ‘loaded with antioxidants, magnesium and is full of other nutrients.’

Maca: Nat Kringoudis states on her website “Fertilise Yourself” that Maca ‘gets the title of a superfood because it delivers on the nutrition front. It’s totally full of vitamins and minerals as well as enzymes and amino acids which is why it makes a swell effort in getting your hormones happy. It’s full of B vitamins (those are the energy vitamins) – vitamin B-12 being particularly good for the vegetarians amongst us. It is also a great source of bioavailable calcium and magnesium – magnesium being one of my favourite all round period fixers as well as iron, potassium and vitamin C.’

FINAL WORD

These raw cacao maca nut balls are awesome and packed with nutrients. Get them into you.
